My Understanding on Pan Gu Shengong

George Iber, Ph.D., education professor

Pan Gu Shengong directly integrates the energy of the universe into the systems of mind and body. The basis of this practice is the quantum recognition that all matter is energy, and all energy is spirit.  Master Ou has says that it is the knowledge contained within the movements of the practice that bring benefit.  That knowledge is experienced as energy and consciousness.  The conceptual separation of mind, body, and spirit reveals itself to be more a matter of degree rather than distinct discrete elements.  The practice works through connecting the human experience to its source, the yin-yang energy manifest throughout the universe, symbolized and manifest classically as the moon and the sun.  That is why the common name for this qigong is “Heaven, Earth, Sun and Moon” qigong.  All humanity is created and maintained by these forces and is able to regulate and make manifest these energies.

The most obvious benefit of this manifestation is improved health on the physical level.  Testimonials range from alleviation of common aliments to seemingly miraculous cures of conditions known to be fatal.  Additionally, an improved mental and emotional outlook accompanies regular practice. As universal energy is absorbed, the mind and body have the vital energy for alignment and healing.  With practice over time, one comes to feel a connection with universal energy, we are the very substance and energy of the stars.

Ultimately, what we are is perhaps not as important as what the universe is.  Pan Gu Shengong assumes that the universe is manifest spirit, the spirit of Pan Gu, which is why this qigong is considered to be a “mystical.”  Though practitioners may have doubts about this assumption, as they continue to receive benefits, the fundamental principle becomes clear; the vital energy of the universe can clearly manifest in our everyday lives.  This systematic qigong, practiced regularly, promises an array of personal benefits, the knowledge of which we are only beginning to understand.

To speak humbly and sincerely of the personal benefits is an awkward task.  Throughout my life, I have engaged with many spiritual practices, from meditation and prayer, to yoga and other forms of qigong and tai chi.  All such practices have their unmistakable benefits and all are valuable to those who sincerely practice them.  The practice of Pan Gu Shengong allows ones life to manifest within an ethical framework of love and tolerance.  You know something profound is happening when you begin to engage the world as a mystical whole.  Experience shifts.  You smile more, suffering disappears, you forgive yourself and others, and you feel love and compassion for no particular reason.  Such a connection is a sublime gift.  This experience has arrived through practicing Pan Gu Shengong, it has become the core around which all other aspects of my life benefit.

The source of my desire to become a Pan Gu Shengong instructor manifests from the heart, to sincerely offer a way to those who wish to improve their health of mind, body, and spirit is a fortunate destiny.  I believe that anyone who begins this qigong and practices it regularly will achieve measurable and immeasurable benefits.  The personal experience of thousands demonstrates that this qigong is profound.  This is energy medicine.  To bring healing as a Pan Gu Shengong instructor would be a great honor.  There is nothing more noble or more necessary for this world than to help relieve suffering and bring spiritual dignity to so many lives.
